Who is Daphne?

Well, we are not the virgin nymph which according to Greek mythology fled Apollo in despair because the latter had caused Eros´ anger and, as a consequence, was hit with an arrow to fall head over heels with Daphne. Daphne, tragically enough for Apollo, was not able to love him back because a second arrow had made her insusceptible to Apollo´s charms.  Apollo however continued to chase his victim. Thus, in panic Daphne called for Peneus´ help (the river God) and was turned into a laurel tree.

Daphne therefore means to us "metamorphosis".  It means adapting to continuous changes and demands. The facility of the present Daphne production site in Turkey was bought in 2007 by a group of German investors who have started to turn Daphne into a modern company meeting the challenge of the present and future markets.
